Oil and model´s blood on canvas, 2017.

With the art I transmit the importance of the living diversity of creatures on our planet. The blood I use to complete the artwork is an undoubted symbol of death that leads to think about us and our role in the world. The wolf is a species traditionally persecuted by humans, even fairy tales associate the wolf with a bad figure that must be defeated. Instead the wolf is a complex and intelligent animal. Evolving into a dog, he became our best friend. This fascinating animal is fundamental for the ecosystems in which he lives: healthy forests need wolves.

The boy of this painting offered his blood in solidarity for his favorite animal.

Artist friends, do you want to share with me one of your tricks on how to paint water well, the movement of the waves of the sea?
Mine is this: what I always keep in mind is that water is a liquid and fluid element and so I try to move the brush in my hand as well. And the color I use to spread the reflections over the basic blue is very fluid, diluted and transparent 💙. Something that everyone should know about our oceans:
The ocean regulates the Earth climate. It regulates rain and droughts. Holding 97% of the water of our planet, almost all rain that drops on land comes from the sea. The ocean absorbs CO2, to keep the carbon cycle, and accordingly temperatures on Earth, in balance. It is like our global climate control system. 🌈

The Ocean is the heart of the planet. Water covers more than two-thirds of the Earth’s surface. Sea plants produce 70% of the oxygen we breathe.
Phytoplankton is a microscopic plant which spends its life being carried by oceanic currents. Basically, these tiny little organisms act in the same way as tree leaves do on land. Phytoplankton absorbs carbon dioxide and releases oxygen. We do not see them, so we tend to forget about them if we even know about them in the first place. They are one of the tiniest beings on the planet, but one of the most important to have around, keeping us alive. 🌊💙

The movement and fluidity of water is for me always an artistic challenge that I love to face 🌊
I painted these sea waves on a large surface during my experience as a scenic painter 🎨.
